By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Russian officials said a planned ordnance detonation was responsible for a blast that spooked residents and blew out windows in the Far East region of Vladivostok on Wednesday. No injuries were reported.
The ITAR-Tass and RIA-Novosti news agencies said high-rise buildings in Vladivostok swayed and foundations cracked. Residents reported feeling a shockwave that popped their ears.
The Pacific Fleet said in a statement the detonation took place on a naval training ground about 50 kilometers from Vladivostok and was previously scheduled.
