Thousands of demonstrators marched in Paris for a fourth straight weekend Saturday to show their support for Palestinians in Gaza - even after a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel. The peaceful protest, which Paris police said drew 9,500 people, was meant in part to pressure France's government. The marchers carried Palestinian flags, chanted "resistance, resistance" and waved banners like one reading "Shame on Israel" written in English. One protester waved on a stick a water bottle decorated to look like a rocket - an apparent reference to those fired by Hamas into Israel. Thousands of marchers have poured into Paris streets on each of the last four Saturdays in response to the Israeli offensive that began Dec. 27 in response to Hamas rocket fire. Some of the demonstrations have degenerated into violence.
