Top EU official Solana holds talks with Hizbullah

The European Union's foreign affairs chief has held talks with a Hizbullah legislator in the first meeting between a senior EU diplomat and an official of the Iranian-backed Shi'ite terror group. Saturday's meeting between Javier Solana and Hizbullah lawmaker Hussein Hajj Hassan follows a similar outreach to the militant group by Britain. Hassan described Saturday's meeting as a goodwill gesture from the EU.
