Royal weddings, Oscar winners and hacking scandals dominated the news over the last twelve months. From Natalie Portman's chilling performance in Black Swan and her subsequent best actress Oscar win to the international obsession over the British royal wedding to the phone hacking scandal that shocked the world of media, 2011 has hardly been a quiet year in entertainment. On November 29, 2011, Murray was sentenced to four years in prison, though he is expected to serve a little less than two years due to jail overcrowding. Murray plans to appeal the verdict and is planning on representing himself. Another is of the now-famous photo of Prince William and the new Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, shortly after their lavish wedding, kissing on the Buckingham Palace balcony next to a very unhappy bridesmaid, Grace van Cutsem. The picture of the young girl has become a frequent meme across the internet.
