Twin blasts rock Indian holy city; at least 4 dead

Explosions rocked a railway station and a Hindu temple Tuesday in the Indian holy city of Varanasi, and at least four people were killed, police said. As news of the explosions spread, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appealed for calm, said his spokesman, Sanjaya Baru. He did not say what caused the blasts. The explosions came days after Muslims and Hindus battled each other in the nearby city of Lucknow, and angry Hindus looted Muslim shops and burned vehicles in the coastal resort of Goa.
