UN council condemns attack at US consulate in Turkey

The UN Security Council has unanimously condemned the attack on the US consulate in Istanbul, Turkey that left three policemen and three assailants dead. The 15-nation council on Thursday approved a statement calling the attack a day earlier a "reprehensible act of terrorism" and saying that "all acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation." Turkish authorities have captured a gunman wanted in the attack after rounding up suspects who had communicated with three other assailants killed by police, according to local media reports.
