Emerald Spa at Dan Panorama hotel Tel Aviv is a modern and intimate spa. It caters for a maximum of four guests only at a given time, which allows for ultimate privacy – perfect for romantic pastime. With a wide menu of treatments, a luxurious jacuzzi and a Finnish sauna it is an opportunity for an escape from the cold weather.

Emerald is a turquoise gemstone that is considered to relieve stress and bring about physical, emotional and spiritual balance. It is also perceived as a purifier of negative energies and, according to Indian belief, emerald affords abundance, peace, well-being and luck. Emerald Spa, like the stone it is called after, offers many healing therapies for the body and soul.

The spa is luxurious and its décor is modern. The small rest area is lighted with bluish light emanating from vertical wooden blinds and consists of four resting beds immersed in calming music. The adjacent Jacuzzi is placed on a podium with a wooden floor and golden mosaic and has a changing bubbles program. The romantic lighting and small size makes it very intimate; I haven’t seen anything like this in any other spa. While dipping in the jacuzzi and resting, we enjoyed herbal tea and natural water flavored with lemon, orange and cucumbers.

There are only three massage rooms, one of which is for couples. The massage menu includes all the classic treatment from the west, including shiatsu, reflexology, Thai massage, bamboo massage, deep tissue, and many more. They also offer facial treatments, including a unique “diamond” oxygen face treatment.

I did a classic Swedish massage. Massages here are done with coconut oil that is pleasant and also has health benefits. The masseuse was very professional! My massage was rather intense, I felt she was touching and relaxing each hidden muscle in my body in a very gentle and calming way.

It is ideal to combine the spa with a meal in the dairy lobby across the hall from the spa. There are deals with the spa for a brunch or a light meal that includes a dairy dish and a hot or cold drink. The restaurant serves varied cold and hot salads, sandwiches and pasta all made from fresh quality ingredients.

I recommend the Menashiya Salad – fresh seasoning of herbs, fried halloumi cheese, crispy-coated artichoke hearts, roasted nuts and seeds, pomegranate vinaigrette; the Caprese Sandwich – rustique bread, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato mousse and pesto, served with fresh vegetables; and the Chestnut Ravioli in cream and mushroom sauce.

I ate here a number of times and always enjoyed everything.

The writer was a guest of the spa and restaurant.
