An 18-year-old high school student from Kiryat Gat was voted Miss Israel in a ceremony at the Tel Aviv port on Monday.

Karine Aliya won the coveted title ahead of three other competitors in Monday's final.

Aliya is a dancer and surfer who enjoys outdoor activities, as well as playing music. Aliya was awarded the Miss Israel crown in a ceremony officiated by 2013 Miss Israel winner Titi Aynaw.

Aliya became Miss Israel in place of the outgoing beauty queen Maayan Keren.
