For the past four years outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot has been working to prevent Iran's expansion in the Middle East and it's entrenchment in war-torn Syria. Now that US President Donald Trump has announced that American troops will withdraw from the region, concern has grown in Israel about Iran's growing presence and officials have called for Washington to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights as compensation.
Join The Jerusalem Post as its military correspondent, Anna Ahronheim, asks Maj.-Gen. Amidror some tough questions about the risks and opportunities for Israel to confront Iran in Lebanon and Syria.
Maj.-Gen. (ret.) Yaakov Amidror is the Anne and Greg Rosshandler Senior Fellow at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS) and Distinguished Fellow at the JINSA Gemunder Center for Defense and Strategy.
