Palestinian security prisoner escapes from hospital in northern Israel

A large contingent of police were searching the area surrounding the hospital for the suspect.

A security prisoner was on the loose in the Afula area on Sunday after he escaped while receiving medical treatment at Emek Medical Center in the northern Israeli city.
The 32-year-old Palestinian from the village of Damun in the northern West Bank escaped while being brought by an IDF soldier to the hospital for a medical check-up.
A large contingent of police were searching the area surrounding the hospital for the suspect.
The fugitive was described as tall and skinny, wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black  hat.
Police were investigating the circumstances of the prisoner's escape.
Police requested that members of the public with information about the prisoner's whereabouts call the emergency hotline at 100.
