Israeli military censors permitted media outlets on Tuesday to report that an IDF soldier from a West Bank settlement was arrested for allegedly passing classified information to far-right settlers.
According to Army Radio, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) last week took into custody Elad Sela, a resident of the Bat Ayin settlement, who is being accused of endangering national security.
Army Radio reported that Sela, a conscript serving in the Etzion Divisional Brigade, is alleged to have passed secret information about plans that the IDF had prepared for West Bank settlements to far-right activists.
The alleged crimes were considered so serious that military censors banned the press from reporting details of the investigation, according to Army Radio.
