An IDF soldier sustained injuries after falling from an armored personnel carrier during a military exercise in the Jordan Valley on Sunday.
The vehicle overturned in the accident.
An air ambulance evacuated the soldier to the Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, an army spokeswoman said, adding, "He is now hospitalized in light condition."
The IDF launched a five-day exercise on Sunday in the Jordan Valley and in northern Israel. During the exercise, civilians might notice a high level of military traffic, including trailers and armored vehicles on several routes, the army said on Saturday evening.
The exercise is being held in full cooperation with other security agencies, including the Israel Police, the army added. "We stress that this is an annual exercise, planned ahead of time as part of the exercises scheduled to be held in 2015," the IDF Spokesman said in a statement. The exercise does not signify any change in the level of readiness of the armed forces, it added.
