Israel's top tennis player, Dudi Sela climbed back into the world's top 100 on Monday after claiming the Vancouver Open in Canada on Sunday night, his 18th career title on the ATP Challenger Tour.
The 30-year-old Israeli jumped 30 places in the world rankings to No.
100 after beating John-Patrick Smith (121) of Australia 6-4, 7-5 in the final in one hour and 32 minutes.
It was Sela's fourth title in Vancouver, 10 years after he won his first.
"When I first won the title here I was just a boy," Sela said. "Now I'm a lot more experienced and I enjoy coming back here every time and being treated like I'm your son. I suggest you don't invite me again if you want a new champion."
Next up for Sela is the US Open, with the Israeli to discover on Thursday who he will face in the first round of the main draw of the year's final Grand Slam tournament in New York.
