Tel Aviv officially inaugurated the Bibi-Bougie-Bogie-Baiga beach yesterday in the presence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jewish Agency chairman Isaac Herzog, former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon and former finance minister Avraham Shochat.

Following the success of the Tel Aviv Municipality’s “smartphone-zombie” initiative that installed LED light strips on the pavements of city streets to protect smartphone zombies, the BBBBBeach will also feature a lit LED path guiding bathers to the water.
“We’ve run into the phenomenon of people not being able to locate the water, as they aren’t able to pick their heads up,” explained chief BBBBBeach lifeguard Mayim Bialik. “This should help. But we still can’t figure out how to get them to put their phones down, so we’re going to see an uptick in waterlogged cell phones.”

A gender neutral spokesperson, speaking on condition of immunity, confirmed that Netanyahu used the lit-up path to dip his toes in the water. He immediately scurried back to his blanket to check his WhatsApp for any messages from the Iranians or his wife.
