119 scholarships to be given in memory of fallen soldiers of war

The University of Haifa will award 119 scholarships to students who served in the IDF in memory of the 119 soldiers who died in the Second Lebanon War. Each recipients will meet with the family of the soldier in whose memory they received the scholarship. "The University of Haifa, the 'University of the North,' looked for an appropriate way to memorialize the 119 soldiers who fell in the war, during which the university was under the threat of Hizbullah missiles. As many of our students fought in the war we thought it would be fitting to honor the memory of the soldiers with scholarships in their name. The scholarship recipients will establish a personal connection with the family of the soldier in whose memory their scholarship is named," said Haifa University Prof. Aaron Ben-Ze'ev in a statement.
