30,000 Jews expected for Sabbath prayer in Hebron

30,000 Jews were expected to arrive on Friday in Hebron for the Sabbath in which the Chayei Sarah Torah portion is read. That portion describes the purchase of the Machpela Cave in Hebron by the patriarch Abraham. That place is considered one of the most important religious sites in the Jewish world. Army Radio reported that security forces were preparing for the thousands of visiters, and securing the events throughout the day.
