Police and emergency medical teams worked hard at four crime scenes in the Western Galilee overnight Friday, as five people were wounded, four of them seriously, in shooting and stabbing incidents. In the first shooting incident, a 23-year-old was hit in the abdomen in the old city of Acre late on Friday night. A Magen David Adom team evacuated him to the Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya. Police suspect the background for the attack was a dispute between local criminal gangs. Police were then alerted to the village of Arabe, northwest of Karmiel after shots were apparently fired at the legs of two men from a passing car. The men, in their late twenties, sustained moderate-to-serious wounds. A Magen David Adom team evacuated them to Poria Hospital in Tiberias. In the nearby town of Karmiel, a 17-year-old young man was stabbed in a fight that broke out between olim from Russia and Israeli Arabs. The youth was apparently stabbed in the back, and was evacuated the Western Galilee Hospital by Magen David Adom. Shortly after the incident, police arrested two 19-year-old suspects from the village of Dir al-Asad. In the early hours of Saturday morning, a 23-year-old man was evacuated from Karmiel to the hospital in serious condition after he received multiple stab wounds. Police launched an investigation into the attack.
