Abbas condemns bulldozer attack; Peres: Israel can't accept terror attacks

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who was meeting with President Shimon Peres as the terror attack in Jerusalem occurred, condemned the attack carried out by a bulldozer driver on a rampage in Jerusalem, Tuesday. "I understand this was a deliberate attack," Abbas said, "and we condemn any attack against civilians from both sides [of the Israeli-Arab conflict]," Abbas told TV reporters upon exiting the Beit Hanassi presidential residence in Jerusalem. Also responding to the attack, Peres said that "the State of Israel will not be able to accept terror attacks" as part of its everyday life. Peres was meeting with Abbas at his residence in Jerusalem - the first time a Palestinian Authority president has visited the official residence of Israel's president.
