Barak: Speed up construction of Israel-Egypt border barrier

Following Sunday's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with Defense Minister Ehud Barak and security officials to discuss the continuing infiltrations by African refugees to Israel.
Barak called for the accelerated construction of a security barrier on the Israel-Egypt border and urged the Finance Ministry to provide the funds to build an "effective fence" in order to curb the infiltrations by the African refugees.
Barak said that the defense establishment had already completed plans for sections of the fence in Nitzana and Eilat that required funding.
