Barak meets with Pakistan's Musharraf

Defense minister speaks to president about rise of radical Islam, safety of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak met secretly with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf in Paris last week, and discussed with him the nuclear threat and regional developments, Channel 2 reported Sunday. The two were staying at the same hotel and met by chance on Tuesday, but decided to hold a meeting the following day. Barak expressed his concern over the rise of radical Islam in Pakistan, and the possibility of the country's nuclear capabilities falling into the hands of terrorists. Musharraf told Barak that his nation's nuclear arsenal was secure and under complete control.
