Chief rabbis call on public to donate blood

Israel's chief rabbis have called upon the public to donate blood, including people with rare blood types. In a bulletin circulated around the country on Thursday, chief rabbis Yona Metzger and Shlomo Amar said that "donating blood is a great mitzvah" because it could help save lives.
