Chilean diplomat says his Hebron tour was halted by Israeli police

A diplomat from Chile said that Israeli police ordered him and a group of colleagues to break off a walking tour in the Israeli-controlled sector of the West Bank city of Hebron. About 20 diplomats visited downtown Hebron Wednesday. Jose de la Cruz from Chile said that the visitors were near a Hebron shrine when several Jewish settlers began videotaping the group. Other witnesses said that settlers scuffled with bodyguards of Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Riad Malki. De la Cruz says Israeli police ordered the diplomats to break off their walking tour. Police officials had no immediate comment. Israel controls downtown Hebron where several hundred Jewish settlers live.
