Egypt denies it has already invited Netanyahu

Egypt on Wednesday flatly denied a claim by Likud MK Ayoub Kara that its ambassador to Israel had invited Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu to visit Cairo. The Egyptian Embassy said in a statement that Kara's words were totally inaccurate and that anyway, such an invitation would be decided upon by the country's leadership in Cairo, not by the embassy. The statement went on to say that it was too early to talk about inviting Netanyahu since the new Israeli government had still not been formed.
