Former MK released for good behavior after serving four months out of seven-month prison term.

Former MK Omri Sharon was released Tuesday from Maasiyahu Prison after serving four months of a seven month sentence. Three months of his term were deducted for good behavior.
Sharon began his sentence last February after he was convicted of violating the Likud party funding law, false reporting in corporate documents, perjury and other offenses while working as his father's campaign manager when Ariel Sharon was running for the top spot in the party in 1999.
Sharon was initially sentenced to nine months in prison but the Supreme Court accepted his appeal and shortened his sentence to seven months.
For the next three months, until the seven months of his sentence play themselves out, Sharon will be forced to register at a police station every couple of days.
Sharon had initially argued that his sentence should be commuted for an equivalent number of community service hours so that he would be able to continue his vigil at the bedside of his father, who has been in a coma since January 2006.
His lawyers had argued that the former prime minister's chances of recovery would be lowered considerably without the regular presence of his son.
