A 13-year-old youth was killed in Haifa on Thursday evening when a basketball pole fell on him. The youths held on to the basket after dunking the ball, causing the pole to fall on him.
Residents said the municipality was told the pole was collapsing, adding that it had already been improperly repaired twice.
