Haifa man jailed for three years for killing man in hit-and-run

A Haifa man was sentenced to three years in jail on Monday for killing a man in a hit-and-run 18 months ago. According to the Haifa District Court verdict, the offender, Eliran Bar-Sheshet, ran the man over when he got out of his vehicle by the side of the road, fled the scene and asked his mother to tell police that his car had been stolen. In addition to the jail sentence, Bar-Sheshet's driving license was confiscated for 15 years.
