The Haifa municipal council decided to name a square in the city's Menachem Begin neighborhood after his assasinated peace partner, former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat, Israel Radio said on Monday.
Officials said that they saw great meaning to the fact that the names of both statesmen will be commemorated in the same neighborhood.
The peace agreement with Egypt was signed exactly 26 years ago.
