Hebron Hills council head urges PM not to open Hakvasim checkpoint

Hebron Hills Regional Council head Tzvika Bar-Hai sent an urgent letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Sunday evening, requesting that he reverse his decision to open the Hakvasim checkpoint to Palestinian traffic. Bar-Hai claimed in his letter that the checkpoint was set up in order to prevent terrorist attacks at Hakvasim junction, where Israelis have been killed in the past.
