40 Palestinian vehicles damaged by vandals; settlers slash tires of Border Police vehicles.

A group of some 50 settlers threw rocks at Palestinian homes in Hebron, and 40 Palestinian vehicles were damaged by vandals early Sunday morning, Judea and Samaria Police said.
One youth has been arrested so far for damaging the vehicles.
In addition, police said three settlers had slashed the tires of a Border Police vehicle.
Meanwhile, Judea and Samaria Police have launched a manhunt for a settler who reportedly fired shots in the air during a confrontation with Palestinians on Saturday in Hebron.
The incident took place during prolonged rock-throwing exchanges between groups of settlers and Palestinians around a disputed Hebron building claimed by both sides.
"We have received a report from a border policeman who said he saw the settler fire shots," Judea and Samaria Police spokesman Ch.-Supt. Danny Poleg said. "An investigation has been opened."
A Border Police source told The Jerusalem Post that the man had not been arrested on the spot because Border Police commanders had decided to avoid escalating what was an already tense situation.
He added that police would likely find the man in the near future. "It's only a matter of time until he is arrested," the source said.
During the violent clash, a second border policeman was physically assaulted by the wife of Malachi Levivger, the newly elected head of the Kiryat Arba council. The policeman filed a complaint after the incident.
