Hirchson hospitalized with chest pains; second day of testimony postponed

Former finance minister Avraham Hirchson, who is standing trial for suspected embezzlement of NIS 2.5 million, was hospitalized at Ichilov Hospital late Tuesday night with chest pains and high blood pressure. The hospital said that Hirchson, who was scheduled to take the stand for the second straight day on Wednesday, was in stable condition and would be subjected to additional tests. Hirchson has exhibited similar symptoms several times since the suspicions against him were revealed. The remainder of his testimony and his cross examination were postponed to a later date.
