Demonstrators call on locals to reclaim downtown; scuffle erupts when troops call for protest's end.
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
Hundreds of Palestinians staged a protest in the center of Hebron, witnesses said Sunday afternoon.
The demonstrators were calling on Hebron residents to reclaim the downtown area where IDF troops guard several Jewish enclaves.
During the protest, several Jewish settlers pulled down three Palestinian flags and burned one of the banners. IDF forces pushed the settlers away.
Soldiers then demanded that the Palestinians leave the area, which promoted a scuffle. No one was wounded in the incident.
