IAF F-16I to resume training flights following formaldehyde discovery

The IAF's fleet of F-16I fighter jets will resume training flights Monday.
It comes more than a month after IAF chief Maj.-Gen. Elazar Shkedy decided to ground all the training flights after formaldehyde was found in the cockpit of one of the aircraft. Six more F-16I fighter jets were later found to have unusually high concentrations of the carcinogenic material.
Shkedy's decision to approve the resumption of the training flights was based on a medical report presented to crew members Sunday night, which showed the risk levels posed by the material to be negligible.
