An IDF soldier in basic training died Wednesday in his base in southern Israel.
The IDF said that the soldier, who was in the Air Force's Anti-Aircraft Basic Training Course, went to rest in his tent following an exercise and passed out.
IDF medics and a Magen David Adom Intensive Care Unit tried resuscitating the soldier and he was evacuated by helicopter to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba where he died.
His family was notified and the IDF Chief Medical Officer set up a special inquiry panel to probe the death.
