Israeli pupils rack up impressive results at int'l Math, Chemistry Olympics

Israeli pupils racked up impressive results at the international Math Olympics and the international Chemistry Olympics which both wrapped up this week. At the Math Olympics, Israel walked away with a gold medal, a silver medal, two bronze medals and two honorable mentions. The games, which were held in Madrid, featured 535 pupils from 97 countries. Dan Carmon from the Aleh Sciences High School in Lod picked up the gold, while Ofir Gorodotzki from the Ironi Heh School in Haifa garnered the silver. At the international Chemistry Olympics in Budapest, Israel picked up one silver medal and two bronze medals. The winners beat out over 200 other youths from 70 countries. Asaf Maude from the Hadera High School captured the silver.
