A Kassam rocket fired from northern Gaza hit a mattress factory in Kibbutz Zikim Thursday morning, starting a small fire in the factory. One person suffered from shock as a result of the attack, and was taken to hospital for treatment. Firefighters at the scene managed to put out the fire before it spread. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the rocket attack. The IDF responded by targeting Kassam launch sites in northern Gaza with an artillery barrage. In total, nine Kassam rockets have been fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip in the past 30 hours. All but the one that landed in Zikim landed in open territory, wounding no one and causing no damage. The IDF responded by bombing Kassam launch sites throughout Gaza during the day.
