Katsav prosecutors ask court to conduct trial behind closed doors

Prosecutors in the case against former president Moshe Katsav, who is suspected of rape, filed a request with the Tel Aviv District Court on Wednesday asking that the trial be conducted behind closed doors. The request is not unusual for cases dealing with sexual offenses, and aims at making it easier for the victims to testify before the court. Earlier, Katsav's lawyers asked the court to consider transferring the case to the Beersheba or Jerusalem district courts.
