Krayot man sentenced to a year in jail for attempting euthanasia on mother

A man from the Krayot region was sentenced to a year in jail on Monday for trying to perform euthanasia on his mother.
Shlomo Ra'av, 58, was convicted in the Haifa District Court of giving his mother a high dosage of medication last year in order to "free her from her pain."
The judges were in disagreement over the sentencing, with some of them believing community service would suffice and others backing a prison term.
