MI chief: Probability of war between Israel, enemies in 2009 is low

The probability of a war between Israel and its enemies over the next year is low, Israel's military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin said Monday.
He went on to say that the world is waiting to see how the financial crisis plays out, and how the new US administration deals with the treat from Iran.
Iran is Israel's main threat, he said, calling it "the regime with radical ideology and radical weapons."
Yadlin spoke Monday at Tel Aviv University. He said Syria might make peace with Israel, but only if Israel gives in to all Syria's demands, and even then, Syria would not cut ties with terror groups.
Yadlin said Israel could deal with two Palestinian entities, working toward peace with moderates in the West Bank while confronting terrorists in Gaza.
