A committee of four ministers headed by Vice Premier Haim Ramon on Thursday presented to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert a list of 450 Palestinian prisoners to be released in exchange for kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Schalit.
Hamas had reportedly demanded that some 1,000 - 1,500 prisoners be released in exchange for Schalit. Half of the prisoners in the list are men whom Hamas demanded to be released.
The committee's other members are Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter, Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann and Minister-without-Portfolio Ami Ayalon.
If the prime minister approves the list on Friday, it will be transferred to Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman, who will hand it to Hamas.
