The Foreign Ministry and Harel Insurance Ltd. located 36-year-old Anat Gonen on Wednesday afternoon, who disappeared two days ago whilst trekking in one of the nation's parks in Ecuador.
The Foreign Ministry has said that Gonen is alive and well, and was found after a Israeli embassy officials aboard an Ecuadorian military helicopter spotted her from the air.
She told the rescue team that she had deviated significantly from the path she was following and had been unable to find her way back.
Gonen, from Herzliya, was completing a four-hour long hike at the Podocarpus National Park, near the village of Vilkabama, when, for an unknown reason she broke away from her partner, also an Israeli.
Fifty locals and other travelers, aided by helicopters, took part in the search for her.
