Celebrating 30 years of peace between Israel and Egypt, US President Barack Obama said that the event proved that peace is always possible, even in the most difficult cases. Obama said that the "circle of peace" between Arabs and Israelis could be extended, adding that the three decades of peace between Israel and Egypt gave inspiration that "the aim was worth the struggle." The president praised former prime minister Menahem Begin, former Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and former US president Jimmy Carter for their role in the peace process.
