'Olmert to tell ministers on Sunday when he plans to step down'

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will announce his intentions to keep his promise to resign during Sunday's cabinet meeting, Israel Radio reported Saturday. During this time he will clarify exactly when he plans to step down. On July 30 Olmert declared that he would resign after the Kadima Party primaries, which took place on Wednesday. He intended to submit his resignation letter to President Shimon Peres the next morning. However, immediately following the race, which Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni won, source close to Olmert said that the prime minister had altered his plans and that the letter would be submitted after Rosh Hashana, on October 2.
