Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met with 20 confrontation line mayors and local council heads on Wednesday afternoon in a tour of the North. Olmert visited Safed, home of the IDF's Northern Command headquarters, where he met with local leaders and IDF officers. Mayor Yishai Maimon, OC Home Front Command Maj.-Gen. Yitzhak Gershon, Police Northern District Cmdr. Dan Ronen, Ziv Medical Center Director Dr. Oscar Ambon and other senior officials briefed the prime minister on the situation in the North, and in Safed in particular.
