Police are working to understand how a quarrel between a man and his girlfriend on Friday night led to two people being shot in a Ramle apartment, with one man rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
The wounded man, who suffered a bullet wound to his stomach, was brought to Assaf Harofeh Hospital near Rishon Lezion by two men in a vehicle.
The man's condition later stabilized, and police said on Saturday that he was in moderate to serious condition.
Police dispatched a patrol car to the hospital to meet the men who had brought the victim in. The two were arrested and interrogated.
Meanwhile, a woman was taken by her partner to Rehovot's Kaplan Medical Center with a gunshot wound to her hand. Police arrested the boyfriend, who led officers to the scene of the shootings.
A preliminary investigation by Shfela Police found that the five individuals had been sitting together in the apartment, when an argument broke out between the man and his girlfriend.
The couple moved into a separate room, but were then joined by a third man, who was subsequently shot in the stomach.
Police have not yet indicated who they believe fired at whom.
Three suspects were scheduled to appear on Sunday before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court for a remand hearing. The woman, who is also considered a suspect, will be given a remand hearing in absentia.
The case has been handed off to the Central District's Central Unit for further investigation.
