Prisoner's sentence extended for conspiring to import drugs from Ecuador

The Tel Aviv District Court on Monday sentenced a prisoner to another seven-and-a-half years for conspiring to import drugs from Ecuador. Liran Kolush, 37, who has been behind bars for more than 20 years, managed to deceive prison guards and make phone calls from the jail, despite the fact that several of his rights, including use of the telephone, had been taken away from him. Kolush has been serving a sentence for dozens of offenses including attempted murder, weapons possession and fraud.
