Remands extended in Rose murder case

Girl's mom, grandfather held for 5 more days; police given until Monday to indict; body flown to France.

Ronnie Ron, accused of killing his granddaughter Rose Pizem and dumping her body in the Yarkon River, and and was remanded for a further five days in a Ramle court hearing on Thursday. Rose's mother Marie, suspected of involvement in her death, was also remanded for five more days. Before the court session, Ron told his lawyer said that he was pleased Rose's body was eventually discovered. "I am happy they found it." Ron said, a week after the body was discovered by divers. Police were given until Monday to serve an indictment against Ron, who has been remanded in custody since August 12. Marie collapsed when she was approached by reporters before the hearing, but she was not in need of hospital treatment. Earlier Thursday, Rose's body was flown to France for burial at the request of her father and paternal grandmother, who both live there.
