Schalit rally to proceed despite calls that it may harm negotiations

A demonstration calling for St.-Sgt. Gilad Schalit's release planned for Sunday will not be canceled despite an interview published in The Jerusalem Post with Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna'i, who said that the rally is detrimental to the negotiations for his release. Yoel Marshak, one of the event's senior organizers, told Army Radio that regardless of the report, their message was to the Palestinians, and aimed at persuading them to act according to international standards in caring for captives and to allow the Red Cross to visit the captured soldier.
