Three people were injured in three separate hit-and-run accidents in central Israel Tuesday evening, within three hours. A four-year-old girl was moderately injured in Tel Aviv when she was hit by a car while crossing the road with her parents. The vehicle fled the scene. A Magen David Adom team evacuated the girl to the city's Ichilov Hospital. A second accident happened when a young pedestrian in his early twenties was hit by a car near Beit Dagan. The driver fled the scene. The young man was evacuated in serious condition to Tel Aviv's Asaf Harofeh Hospital. The third accident occurred in Lod when a 74-year-old man was hit by a jeep. He was also evacuated to Asaf Harofeh Hospital, in moderate condition. The offending vehicle escaped. Police were searching for the drivers in all three incidents and have set up roadblocks in the relevant areas. Last Friday, 27-year-old Meital Aharonson was killed and another woman was moderately injured in a hit-and-run next to Tel Aviv's Rabin Square. The accident occurred after the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser refused to undergo an alcohol test at the Tel Aviv Port and was arrested. One of the driver's two friends who were with him in the car then took the wheel and sped away from the scene. Some twenty minutes later, police received a report that two pedestrians had been hit in a serious accident. The two women were evacuated to Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital, where Aharonson died of her wounds and her friend underwent an operation. The suspected driver of the vehicle and a second passenger have since been arrested.
