Three killed in another day of deadly car accidents

Tragedy struck yet again on Israeli roads on Sunday, with three people killed in three separate accidents since early morning. A man riding a scooter on Highway 4 was killed near the Rishon Lezion interchange when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a truck. The man was initially in critical condition, but he died shortly after from his wounds. Earlier, at dawn on Sunday, another fatal accident occurred when a van caught on fire after overturning on Highway 6. Paramedics who arrived on the scene pronounced the driver dead. Also at dawn, a 17-year-old boy was killed when he was run over by a truck in the western Negev. According to reports, the boy had been sleeping in an agricultural field when the truck arrived to pick up produce.
