Trial of alleged killer of lawyer Anat Pliner to open in Tel Aviv

The trial of an 18-year-old accused of murdering attorney Anat Pliner in April 2006 will begin on Monday in the Tel Aviv District Court. According to the indictment, the youth arrived at Pliner's house in Ramat Hasharon, demanded she give him money, and when she refused and screamed for help stabbed her and fled the scene. According to the psychiatric assessment given to the court, the youth is mentally fit to stand trial, although his attorneys claim he is mentally disturbed.
